First 11 weeks was learning the health and safety and all the basics of my role after that I’m out in the field putting into practice all the skills learned plus learning new skills along the way. Also studying for my functional skills healing gain relevant qualifications to better myself.
Have strengthened skills I already have and learnt a lot more too not only with the apprenticeship but with other colleagues along the way.
It’s awesome, no day is the same always learning new things and getting the opportunity to learn new skills and parts of the trade that I didn’t think would come for quite some time it’s an amazing experience.
I feel highly valued as I’m given a lot by the company and my manger has seen the potential and given plenty of opportunities to broaden my skills for a brighter and extensive career within BT/Openreach.
Few teething problems however what programmes don’t everything that has happened along the way can’t always be helped however there has been great communication as to “why” and “what next” which is always reassuring.
There is not a day nor night where support is not given regardless on or off the clock it’s let really 24/7 and overtime the support is phenomenal wish I had applied at an earlier stage.
Again I’ve got everything and more and what I haven’t got is found out as to why or the correct route to getting what’s needed. There is no dead ends on this journey.
For apprenticeship really good and the increment afterwards even better I’ve landed gold mine.
Yes and I’ve taken advantage of as much as I can the work out in is rewarded with opportunities and vice versa.
Yes
It’s a great experience. Amazing opportunity with every benefit along the way and whatever doubts you have within yourself is grafted into a strength it really is a great experience and I always encourage others to look into this path.
Customer focus, health and safety with “can do” attitude will take you to a fruitful career within the company gaining qualifications, skills and experiences very limited companies are willing to give.
