My role as a trainee engineers involves providing new services to customers and repairing faults on the network.
I have learnt many new skills, such as the safe climbing of poles and how telecoms works. I have also developed my existing interpersonal and organisational skills.
I really enjoy the programme, every day is a learning day. The support available is top class and there are endless opportunities for development.
I feel very valued with BT, especially given this is a huge company. I feel well looked after and I am often recognised for my efforts.
The initial induction and training is top class. We hold regular manager and coaching days. We work as a team, supporting each other. We hold scheduled NVQ days to complete the work for our apprenticeship.
Support is always available if I need it, either by internal sites or by calling someone.
BT offer as much support as you need. My manager is very supporting and often calls me to see how i'm getting on.
My salary and benefits package is very good for an apprenticeship, I even get a van to get me to work. I have no issue meeting my costs.
There are plenty of opportunities such as team events, events in the various BT clubs, and volunteering. BT gives me 4 days paid leave a year so that I can volunteer locally.
Yes
They are Personal, Simple, Brilliant.
Don't be afraid if you haven't done something like this before, neither had I. The training and support is absolutely first class.
