  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme due to the work and teams you can develop in and make a name for yourself. Anyone you are working with counts you as a normal employee and not just a young apprentice given off tasks and not learning much. The company is a great one to work in as there are so many different teams you can develop into, and all managers and seniors are very supportive.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BT Group?
  • I feel very valued here at BT, they are very considerate and caring when it comes to progressing your career. There is good recognition internally within the company and everyone is given very good feedback on their developments within the time here. All employees are valued on projects they work on and finish within the whole team.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I get a lot of support from my training provider Ravensbourne when it comes to things that need answering at work, challenges within projects and questions and development on assignments, reports and exams that are taking place at university. There attitude towards supporting us is great and they are more than happy to help us develop career wise.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer and have regular meetings and catch up sessions in how things are going and help me develop my career in the right path for success. They allow me to take a study day once a week to purely focus on education and developing my knowledge around certain areas of the business and to also work on my NVQ and university assignments.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel it meets well within the areas that you work in. But for my intake for 2015 there was no defined outcome of what we were going to simulate on to. This had put a damper on a few things and its hard to prepare for your future when there is no defined salary that you are going to end on. This makes saving money and planning challenging due to never knowing how much BT feels you are worth.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities outside of work for example volunteering at certain school career fairs and open evenings as well as taking a class at a school and teaching them tech knowledge they may need. There are also local sports clubs including a spin class and netball group on site gathering all the woman together.

  • 9. Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • BT is a great company with so many benefits for working within it. There are so many different areas you could go into, and moving around and getting promotions are simple and can be done easily. The wages you get for an apprentice are great and they are reflected well in the work that you do. they are also great employee discounts for a perk as well.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • Make sure you know fully what your programme will be about and have an idea to what you would like to do in the future.
