I am an apprentice field engineer for the business and public sector for BT. On a daily basis this involves maintaining telephone systems, fixing faults and configuring switches for businesses in my area.
I have no previous experience in telecommunications so every day I am gaining new knowledge about telephone systems
I love every second of it
I feel extremely valued. They provide so much support and encouragement
It is well structured I have completed my college work and am doing further related training courses and shadowing experienced engineers.
My trainer has been brilliant. He offers all the support I need and continually encourages me.
There is a massive network of people I can get support from
I am currently earning more than my previous job and all expenses are covered for training, travel and uniform
Loads we are always encouraged to be involved in activities outside of work
