My role within Arup is a Apprentice Civil Technician and I regularly work on large group projects within my office which require me to have positive working relationships with those around me.
So far the major learning point has been AutoCAD as before starting the apprenticeship I had not used any form of CAD and now I am competent in most aspects of AutoCAD
I find my programme incredibly enjoyable as I have positive relationships with my colleagues and it has exceeded my expectations on how quickly id settle in
Within my team in Arup I feel valued as I am often asked to do work on tasks not only by my team but also by others in the office.
my programme is well structured with regular visits from my training advisor and when I first started I was given all the inductions and office training I needed to be a part of Arup
My training officer makes regular visits to the office to aid in completing the apprenticeship however I don't believe STEGTA is a very good training provider.
Within the office both my manager and mentor are incredibly helpful when I do come across obstacles and also the rest of my team also provide assistance when I need it.
My Salary package meets all my costs adequately
my work offers lots of different activities for those who wish to attend and I am personally taking part in a football competition with the company.
Yes
I believe in the ethics of a company being correct and it is clear to see that Arup has the right ethics in running a business but also that they provide the correct guidance and support in order to help employees grow.
One thing that helped me when applying to Arup is knowing about the company and the direction they were heading.
