I work as a service delivery engineer providing and repairing phone and broardband lines to both business and private customers.
I have worked in maintenance and security roles in the past, so the whole job has been a learning experience. I now know how a phone system works and how to fault find, I have developed my health and safety awareness as part of my role too.
I feel that this is my favourite job to date, I have enjoyed learning the new skills needed to carry out my role, and enjoy getting up and going to work in a morning, something that was lacking in my previous roles.
I think that BT value my input into the company, and feel they do all they can to help me progress in my role.
Despite a slow start in my NVQ work, the structure of the training has been very good.
My trainers are always at the end of the phone if needed, be it my nvq coach or practical job coach, I know I can always call if I get stuck.
I have always found the company to be very helpful providing any support needed.
I think my salary is good for the role I do, with structured salary increases made very plain.
There are always opportunities to meet up with team members outside of work, with both social and charity events going on.
Yes
It is my favourite role to date.
The application process is long and drawn out, but it is well worth doing.
