Trainee Openreach engineer, I will be visiting customer premises to install or repair lines as well as work at the telegraph poles and exchanges
Yes all the skills regarding external work are new skills
Very much, I have met some amazing people, it's a good mix of practical and theory
The trainers make me feel valued and included in all classes
It can be tricky to keep track of where you are meant to be for each lesson and who with, plus with a starting group of 80 plus, there wasn't much chance for asking questions or 121 help in the first week.
The trainers themselves are brilliant

BT have lots of social groups you can get involved in through the social websites and also the volunteering schemes

It's a brilliant place to work for good money
Consider how climbing a pole would affect you as you don't get to try that until week 4, and that can be the scariest part of the course
