I am an apprentice technician for fleet solutions BT. My day to say tasks can be anything from bulbs to engine swaps. I often deal with customers to help them with bring their vehicle for repair.
I have learnt some new skills at BT as I have been on external many different training causes for diagnostic equipment and for new equipment on the vehicles. Working for BT has also helped me develop my existing skills as I am able to gain skill from the technicians I work with and take their experience and use it myself to benefit the company and the customer.
I enjoy working for BT as I was working in a back street garage before I cam to BT and while I was there I started to loose interest in becoming a vehicle tech. But now I at BT I now love the job I do and feel valued and respected the way I feel I should I now don't feel like I'm coming to work as I love the job I do so it not really work when you enjoy as much as I do.
I feel extremely valued as I'm always asked for my opinion on changes to the garage and I'm always treated with the respect I feel I deserve.
I feel its very well organised as everything is always in place for my college dates and external training and the work I get tasked with is what is needed for my college work so that I can become qualified.
I receive the correct level of support from my training provider as I have got dyslexia and often find getting my points across the way I intend however the college are always there to help me with whatever I need.
I receive excellent support from BT as I feel they value me as a younger addition to the company so they are always happy to help me with all my needs an problems I may have to make my time t BT the best they possibly can.
I feel the salary at BT meets my every need and more as I feel as apprentice start from 17+ you don't get many 17-20 year olds on the wage BT pays which also increases every year by a significant amount as an apprentice which increases even more once you become fully qualified.
I have been invited to many external and internal events and meetings with in the 2 years I have been with BT.
