I currently work in the Global Brands Supply department for Boots. I am in the inbound supply team and am a Supply Assistant. On a day to day Basis I run reports using supply systems and support my team lookinf after inventory. As a team we order the stock to the warehouses so it is available for different markets to take consequently, I do a weekly order on a Tuesday and manage this through out the week. I also attend weekly project meetings along with various other meetings through-out the week.
I am currently studying for the level 4 Business admin. This will support and expand my current knowledge which I developed from studying my A-levels. During my time in my job role i have had training on the different systmes used in my department and have massively expanded on ym excel skills. The excel skills i have developed have helped me massivel in my day to day work and in addition to this working with numbers on a daily basis has maintained and improved my mental maths.
I am currently enjoying my job role alot. I have a really supportive team and the company as a whole is a great atmosphere to work in. My job role and time at Boots has definatley met and exceeded my expectations as it is a great company to work for.
I feel really valued by Boots. My line manager is really supportive and always makes sure i have had recognition for any good work i have done. During my time at Boots I have taken part in a project which i then presented back with 3 other apprentices to the people higher up in my department. This was great as it made sure we all got recognition and praise for the work we had done.
I dont feel like my programme is as well structured as it could be at times. The college course can be presented in a confusing structure making it hard to follow. However, I feel like within my job role my team and manager are really supportive of the programme and help alot with making sure all onjectives are met in order for me to be able to pass my college course.
My training instructor is fairly supportive; however, they can deliver the work in a confusing structor. Despite this they are really supportive in helping us to meet deadlines and making sure we are all on track to pass. I have also recently had a progress review where my line manager was invited- this was a really useful way to make sure the work that wwas needed to be done was well organised.
I recieve alot of support from my employer. My line manager has always been supportive towards my day to day role and my programme. I have also recieved support from the HR Team during my time at Boots as they have organised a day for all the apprentices which involved alot of team building. Everyone in my team and people involved in the programme have always been willing to support.
My salary meets my living costs fine but due to me having to dirve a 60 minuet drive to work I feel like alot of my salary is spent on travelling. I make sure i budget week o week but this is due to me wanting to save money - the salary meets my needs fine.
There are lots of opportunities outside of work. During my time at boots I have been on 3 team away days and have been invited and attended talks about my programme in Schools/ colleges. Also I am in the Global Supply rounders team on a charity day which will be taking place on the field outside work .
Yes
They are a good company to work for. It is a really pleasant environment to work in and everyone is suppotie and friendly.
in the applicationa dn the interview always be honest and express your key interests. On the day of the interview make sure your well prepared so you arent too nervous and you can let your personality show. I would like to have been told that the assessment day isnt as scary as it sounds and to try to relax during it all.
