I am a Commercial Executive Apprentice in the Impulse and Out of Home (OOH) team. I deal with invoices, funding and information gathering about numbers relevant to my business. Manipulate spreadsheets create spreadsheets and create reports etc. i also carry out my apprentice coursework and VLE training when i have my 20% off work study.
To be exemplary and create a good impression i fiercely worked on my excel capabilities such to be said that i'm at the advanced level after completing the work capability test and being allowed into the advanced training. I have also learnt a lot about my role how to carry out some my tasks and i've learnt a lot about the company in due process.
i love this opportunity i really can't imagine what a better opportunity could be to further your career. This programme allows you to shine as well and if you show yourself well enough then at the end point they may talk about giving you an actual job which is just brilliant. The work atmosphere, the environment of work, what they have available for you and the really amazing company values are truly of a great dream. I'm so happy i was able to land this opportunity and proven myself so that i could build a great relationship with my managers and others.
As i am an apprentice that has just started the level of value i feel is less than i would like it to be, however, i have hope that by the 4 month mark i would be exceptional with a lot of task to complete without much help and find ways to really shine so that i may be able to land a job at the end of the 18 month period.
The structure of my work is good, however, the apprentice studying scheme side of things, that we're given by the university, is shockingly bad. i have never had so many complaints in my life and issues when filling out a simple form. The stress it was causing me, and pray that it doesn't in the future, caused some serious health issues. Again with the work i do for Unilever, my time here has been too short to really give an overview of how well the programmes is structured.
i'm very new so, so far i get support. I often find myself asking for support more often than them coming up to me and offering it. I have to really depend on myself to chase them up regarding support issues but other than that every couple months are so we have skype meetings.
Less than i would like at certain times. Since i am new i think more consistent meetings would be prudent.
Right now with costs i don;t have an issue but this package will not sustain me if some situations in my life were subject to change or flat out different.
There are but the opportunity Unilever has given me beast most of them my several miles.
Yes
Everything that you would look for in a good office-like job is Unilever and they really want you to succeed rather than fail which unfortunately, is what most people these days do including teachers at school which is horrific. I imagine myself succeeding and being able to tell all those smog people who wanted me to fail about how well i'm doing.
Work hard and receive good. Always present your best self. Be confident. Be smart. Be friendly and good to people. There's huge opportunities for gain but there is no gain without pain so expect tough times and a lot of hard work. I promise though, that it is well worth it.
