I am an apprentice deputy manager and my daily tasks are to ensure the the store runs efficiently by delegating the tasks that need doing and performing tasks such as stock replenishment and handling the stores safe. I also work on the tills so I deal with lots of customers every day. I have to give excellent customer service all the time. I am responsible for delegating jobs to store assistants and performing any managerial procedures that the store needs.
I have learned how to work efficiently in a team and throughout my training and courswork I have learned how a retail business runs. I have beens on a first aid course to become a store first aider. The qualifications I have so far is a level 2 and 3 nvq iin retail management.
I enjoy working part of the team and independently. The role is a challenge and I like it. The company culture of putting its people first is excellent. It went above my expectations. I enjoy going to work.
I receive praise from my managers and feel valued at Aldi. I feel important when helping out in the store. I get recognition for when Ive done well.
The structure at Aldi revolves around the Aldi management system and works efficiently. With clear lines of communication and defined areas of responsibility. The way delegation works if effective and my program was well organised.
I receive lots of support from my training provider and any questions or problems I have can be brought to them easily. They have a very supporting attitude and are actively helping my achieve my qualifications.

My pay is very good for my age and is enough to cover my costs such as living expenses and leisure activities.
There are some events and opportunities outside of work but not lots. We have a paid for activity once a year such as bowling. When I am not working I enjoy going out with friends and activities like golfing and football.

It is a fulfilling challenging job that offers growth and improvement. Good training from the employers and training providers. It is a great work culture and offers good pay. I am learning a lot and it is a great company to be starting a career with.
Before applying, research the company so you have a basic idea of how it operates. Go to a store to understand the layout so you can do well on the store assessment. Be comfortable in the interviews and show that you are up for a challenge. Be ready to work hard as it is a challenging and physical job.
