As a 'Kitchen Assistant' I have to follow out many daily tasks, such as; washing dishes, cleaning down the kitchen and preparing and cooking food. I must ensure that food quality meets comapny standards to maintain customer satisfaction.
Since the start of my apprenticeship, I have learnt how to prepare and cook a variety of dishes and have developed in areas that I had little experience in prior to the course.
I enjoy coming to work every day and I think that is mainly due to the people that I work with. The team was welcoming from the start and any worries I had about starting this course were met with support.
Every piece of feedback I recieve from a colleague helps me improve in some way. I feel like I can rely on the people I work with and that they can also rely on me.
I had no experience in the kitchen before starting this course. Everything I needed to know was explained to me and help was provided when needed. Eveyrbody in the team has an equal workload and nobody is forced to do the same tasks.
My training provider has helped me whenever i've asked. She takes time whenever possible to make sure that I am getting the training I need and that any problems I have can be sorted quickly.
My employer has helped a lot throughout the course. My manager has made sure that I am recieving equal opportunities and that I push myself to improve in the kitchen.
After paying bills, I always have enough money to spend freely.
There are many oportunities outside of work. E.G. There are events wHere apprentices from different M&B sites meet up.
