Looking after the copper network and making sure our customers have a great service. Fault finding, providing lines, upgrading customers to super-broadband On a daily basis the front end of openreach's face for the customer.
I've just finished my NVQ in telecommunications and also doing my maths,English and ICT functional skills. 16 weeks intense training at Yarnfield, Nursluing and budding. The 1st August I went live out on my own, but help was only a phone call away at anytime to your team or buddy/coach. I've not stop learning it non stop
Each day is different, each job is different, working with customers at the forefront of the business.. the whole role is Great and enjoyable...
From the start its been nothing but help from our teams/managers My end of year 1 to 1 with my manager has been great and positive. Openreach have invested in me and are helping me to be a great engineer. That's what makes me feel valued.
For me its been great just what I expected...hard work and a lot of information to take in....
All the way through this process and everyone willing to help or point you in the right direction.
What ever we need, as we can talk to anyone at anytime. Or look for the right information on Bt/openreach HR internal website.
My salary reflex's that I'm a trainee, my pay rise is due this month May 10th. It can only get better with overtime and experience.
I don't have much time to do any work activities after work. In my spare time I enjoy DIY,walking and gardening

Its a great job, and its a opportunity to further yourself while being in a team environment.
Read the questions slowly. Ask for help if you need it. Don't rush check it twice
