Assurance associate. Day to day I spend my time auditing clients. I spend the majority of my time at client sites testing the clients different accounts, e.g obtaining account breakdowns and tieing samples selected to invoices.
On top of both the audit training we receive and the ACA qualification we study, i have learnt many new skills such as building client relationships, understanding what audit is as well as improving my excel skills.
I am thoroughly enjoying the programme so far. I have been exposed to many new expereinces that have massively developed not only my work skills but also personal and team skills, improving my confidence and understanding of what the job involves. At EY there i am surrounded by a very friendly and helpful group of people who are not only work colleagues, but also now good friends.
With everything i do/ all the work i do at EY i feel really valued especailly by more senior team members. Aswell as on the job there is the opportunity to get involved with many projects and lots of internal recognition that is published to the rest of the department.
The apprenticeship programme is very well structure and we are regularly having training and studying at college.
From both our college tutors for the ACA qualification as well as counselor's and peer group mentors, in am surrounded by people who provide constant support and help no matter how big or small the issue is.
From all members of my teams, counselor and more senior members of EY, there is constant support. We have regular meetings with counselors and peer group meetings, where members of HR also attend.
very well.
Aswell as the social events within work, there are many opportunities to attend/speak at career fairs and events, as well as be involved with our department charity and the sports teams organised by EY employees(netball, football etc.)
Yes
My experience at EY so far has been fantastic. I've not only learnt many new skills and gained so much confidence. Ive very quickly learnt about the business and how it works. Everyone at EY is nothing but friendly and helpful and i have not only built relationships in work, but also now made friends for life.
My advice for applying to EY is to be yourself. You're not expected to be a genius in audit/whatever service line you are applying to but being enthuasiastic and wanting to learn helps you get noticed. Also ask lots of questions.
