  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my job title is trainee associate and my job varies from day to day. I execute different parts of an audit as part of the team, this is usually either Planning or execution of the audit testing.

  • I am studying toward the ACA with Kaplan Finacial and ICAEW, had various training weeks internally and have also learnt an immeasurable amount of client skills, interpersonal skills, Teamworking skills, and technical skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • the work is challenging yet rewarding, the teams are incredibly diverse and the company culture is inclusive and extremely welcoming. it is much better than i first expected.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I feel valued by EY However a lot of the recognition schemes and incentives are aimed higher up the Business Managers-partners. I feel like i will become more valuable the more i progress.

  • exceptionally well organised, all training and support/councelling is well thought out and emphasised well.

  • a good amount of support

  • a good amount of support, slightly unclear on points

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • a good salary that enables me to save money, the only issue is that for extra hours worked it does not effect salary whatsoever. 37.5 hour week is paid the same as a 60 hour week.

  • There are a huge amount of opportunities to network and also give back to the community via events and the EY Foundation

  • Yes

  • The culture is incredible in terms of support and friendliness and the career prospect is astounding.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • be yourself the whole way through the process, its about you and what you can do for the firm, be proactive in reaching out to people at the firm and do your reasearch for the assesment centres .
