I work in the private client team as a school leaver. my day to day involves working with a small but enjoyable group of people. Preparing tax advice on a variety of different situations for a variety of different clients. Also preparing annual tax returns for a large base of clients. Both learning new things and earning a living in one place.
Yes. A mix of both technical knowledge from being exposed to interesting and complex tax systems. Also large development in my social skills as working with clients and in a diverse office puts you in new situations.
I'm so glad that i took this option as apposed to going to university. I don't think i am missing out on anything and have also gained much more than i thought i ever would. I enjoy the programme massively
I feel highly valued by my colleagues who do really appreciate my help, however remedial a job i have to do for them. Everyone encourages me to learn and work independently and will appreciate when i do a good piece of work.
the learning side is organised as you have designated times of the year where you are given study. However as so much is learnt on the job it can be hard to know whether you are being exposed to everything you need for your studies.
Kaplan provide constant support.
some support, but more given if you ask for it
i think the salary package is standard for jobs at a school leaver level. Whether that is a good or a bad thing is questionable
yes. there is always something going on either socially internally or externally. It is all your own decision to attend and sometimes there feels like there is too much going on to really go to everything
Yes
enjoyable people, relaxed working environment and good entry point to a career.
to just be yourself in the interview, and it wont matter too much on what you know but how you come across
