My role is to follow in the footsteps of the deputy managers , learn how they manage and become a role model to the other staff members
I have learnt a lot of life skills from dealing with talking in public even down to handling my emotions
The programme is fun and enjoyable for about the first two years , then the last year isn’t so much because you physically don’t learn anything , at this point it feels like you’re just a deputy on less pay
At my store atleast , with the staff and management I feel really well valued , but the company it’s self doesn’t really make me feel like that , it feels like some times they forget you’re an apprentice on a lot less money then the deputies and you’re a lot younger
The programme worked out really well and I’m ready to step into my role
On the aldi side I was fully supported and the same goes for my tutor
The management team were fully committed in me , some even coming in in paid with me to help me out
The first 2 years money is very tight , you struggle a lot and find it hard to cope , but the last year is a decent pay and you can survive on
Not really
Yes
It’s constant working and keeps you on your feet
Don’t go in expecting it to be like any other retail job
