As part of my year 1 role I was effectively employed as a store assistant. This meant I was expected to fulfill or at least be be able to fulfill all roles within the store. Including -stocking/working on produce -stocking/working on chiller -putting out ambient deliveries -manning the checkout -dealing with customer questions and complaints -basic cleaning when required -stock rotation -stocking and working on special buys, including planning for upcoming events.
I have developed my people skills further as I have grown in confidence. I have also improved on my ability to improvise and work independently.
It can be stressful and frustrating but on the whole it has been a good experience.
This depends upon the week. More positive engagement would be good from management.
Extremely unorganised compared to what was advertised. Communication could be better as well.
Monthly visits. Any question I have is answered quite quickly
Support can be frustrating, it is not withheld but communication is rather poor so you have to do a lot of legwork for it .
Salary is good for an apprenticeship but I wonder whether there is any long term benefit to the apprenticeship within the company
Not sure of the question but the jobs awkward and unsociable hours mean that even though hours are low(around 30) it is difficult to find other jobs and or outside activities.
Yes
Good pay relative to the rest
Don't apply if you want to have a social life. Also you need to be willing to do anything and do it with a positive attitude, this means you are more likely to get given the higher level tasks(increasing the likiness that your contract will be renewed.
