Currently in my first year of the apprenticeship I’m expected to carry at the role of a store assistant, to a high standard whilst showing managerial potential.
I have learnt the all aspects of What is required to be a store assistant such as using a till and the importance of rotating stock.
I enjoy playing being apart of the program as it allows me to learn a variety of skills whilst earning money.
I feel fairly valued, especially by my store (team), as they are always trying to help my develop and improve. I do feel that the company could improve it’s attitude towards apprenticeship, as the big contracted hours, and low pay, leagues a feeling of being exploited.
It is reasonably well organised as there are to separate parts to the job. The theory part is with lifetime, whilst easy, the tutors haven’t always been the most helpful. Within Aldi is it fairly well structured, my only issue is at times it feels as though you’re just a. Store assistant as no different is distinguished.
My training provider is okay, I will finish all my assignments early however at times there’s been a lack of contact which has hindered progress.
They’ve been excellent as they have always tried to improve my knowledge and performance, whilst being both positive and constructive feedback
It doesn’t particularly. I’m 19 years old working alongside people doing the same job for half the price. Leaves you feeling very exploited!
They offer insensitives to proved opportunities but with shift hours, changing Rotas, it’s often difficult to take them up.
Yes
I wouldn’t recommend the apprenticeship program but I think working for Aldi is a positive experience as the money is good and generally the company aims to look after its employees.
Make sure they are certain If all the responsibilities he job applying for carries and aren’t afraid of hard work.
