My role changes every 6 months due to the type of apprenticeship I am on at the moment, but at present I work within a business implamentation team reviewing new projects that directly effect the day to day running of my business area
Too many to list but the key skills I have learnt whilst on the course have been time management and networking.
I really enjoy the programme and the expercience I've gained while on the course. The study blocks have been a great chance to work with people from different parts of the country.
Very much so, many business area's are keen to learn more about the apprenticeship and want to have me within the area to support. However the performance and learning journey has been almost forgotten about for my second year on the course
Not very, I have been left mostly to organise my own work placed journey and placemnt (which i undrstand can help to some extent in my development, but at tmes the gaols of this journey change depending on which programme lead you contact)
The support from the university tutors is amazing, any questions get an immideiate response and if they cant help out at first contact will always put you in touch with a contact that can support.
Direct support has been a mixed bag, at times support is provided immediately but at other times support is slow and at times responses tp queries go un answered (However this is from the programme leads, the direct workplace contact e.g line manager have been fully supportive throughout the course)
Personally I dont feel the salary is sufficient with the work load given on certain rotations. At points I have been completing work 2-3 pay grades about my own, so a higher minimum pay grade would be ideal. That being said the fact that I am completing a degree free is more than enough to compensate for the lower pay grade. Alo the expenses package is more than enough to cover cost accurred through travel
I haven't persude any opportunities outside of work due to the work load I have at presence.
Yes
Barclays as an employer is to a very high standard and is at the forefront of so many innovitive approaches to banking, developlement and citizenship. I have worked for another high street bank prior to joining Barclays and the difference is huge.
Make sure you are ready for the commitments of completing both a degree and a 9-5 job. The more you put into this role the more you get out of it and make sure to work on your networking even before starting as it will help you during your learning journey.
