Platforms 1st Line Support. Dealing with customer facing issues required access to applications and platforms we support. Dealing with Software and Hardware issues. Answer calls and emails from people who have issues with their accounts. This is both Internal and External to BT.
Gaining a full degree due to complete 2019. I am looking in to a CCNA course. I will have gained an NVQ Foundation qualification. Also been on internal training courses regarding using equipment we use in the network and software.
I enjoy the team I am in. They are very supportive and as I am new to the team they are helping me with new issues I haven't come across before.
There is internal recognition for your efforts via a scheme called ecards.
The programme is very organised. I had 2 separate inductions, one to BT and one to my team at tower. I get the support I require for my university work from both my managers at BT and my teachers at university.
I receive all the help and guidance I need as I can reach them by email and call about assignments and tests when necessary. They also provide a feedback form so they can improve upon the course.
BT provide Mentor's if you require them. They do provide you with a buddy when you first start in your job role just as someone you know and can get along with. Also s they provide good support and begin networking process. The HR team are always contactable either online chat, email or via phone. Everything remains between you and them and only escalates if need be. Support and Guidance can be found via the HR website as well as speaking to manager or peers who are all willing to provide support.
For me my salary is good. I do get London waiting but my travel costs are high. With living costs being relatively low I am able to balance my out-going costs with my in-coming costs most months. Also depends on the time of year too.
There are company volunteering events you can go to and encouraged to go to. Internal company events such as networking. When I am not working I study for my full degree, bake and socialise with friends and family.
Yes
It is a good company to work for. I think the Degree scheme is good and what they offer is amazing in terms of the type of apprenticeship in comparison to others I have looked at.
Be yourself, Be confident, Be you.
