Program included working full time and studying towards a management and leadership degree. It allowed participants to undertake 6 month rotations in various roles.
Studying and worked towards improving management and leadership skills. Improved on teamwork, confidence in presenting and public speaking, working under pressure, prioritising and delegating. We also had the opportunity to attend internal training sessions for our various roles.
The work was challenging and went alongside the studying which allowed us to develop with the theory. The company culture made everyone feel included and supported. It was very enjoyable to work with different teams and adapt to different environments and requirements.
The management within Barclays consistently supported me throughout the program and gave me regular feedback as well as recognition. I was able to participate in tasks that not other members of the team got a chance to which gave me a unique and deeper insight into the business.
The induction allowed all members to meet each other and all the leaders. We received training and contact details for all the team leader so we were aware of who to go to for support with any issues we faced. It was very well organised so we knew in advanced when any training was and also had lots of learning material sent well in advance so we could review this.
We were able to contact our tutors by email and phone. Although we were not always able to have much contact with our program leader, our team leaders for the various roles were very supportive. We had monthly calls with the progamme leader but did not get much 121 support which would have been helpful.
Barclays as a whole was very supportive especially the team leaders for the various roles we were in. The previous entry students in the year above were also very helpful.
The salary was very disappointing and has since been improved.
There are many networking events and various other events that we are able to attend and Barclays are very good at keeping us up to date with these
Yes
The support from various roles was great and the scheme to work and study at the same time was great.
The application process was great as the team were very easy to contact and were quick at responding. The interview was explained before hand so applciants know what to expect so i would advise applicants to read through this thoroughly.
