fibre engineer, fix or provide fibre routes to customers.
new skills, fibre jointing.
First year of the programme was fun and I went on many courses and buddying to learn. Programme has been not existent after the first year though and I am doing the role fully.
As part of a project team that I got myself on to at present time I feel very valued and part of a great team of people. The former role I initially was hired into I felt very alone and left to my own devices.
the first year was timetabled with pre programmed courses and buddying time. After the first year it all disappeared and I still have courses to complete for my NVQ requirements that I will have to sort myself.
I can ask anyone in my team for help when it comes to the job, but the apprentice manager I had has disappeared and my NVQ coach keeps changing.
I can ask anyone in my team for help when it comes to the job or welfare issues.
Happy with wage, for the first year as a learner and observer. Following years I am working the normal role on a lower wage than the normal engineers.
I receive many emails for volunteering and events.
