I am a developer or a coder for a composition tool used within the bank, my day to day role is working on projects and one off mailings, coding the letters that are sent out to the customers
I wasn't technical at all before I started this apprenticeship, and I have just received a first in the coding part of my degree, I have developed myself in a way I didn't think I was capable of doing.
there have been many ups and downs while I have been on this apprenticeship, I have nearly given up numerous times, but the support Lloyds have given me and the people I have met have made me carry on because I can do it!
I do feel valued in my team, but sometimes I feel a little used because I am a free resource.
I feel the programme is structured quite well, there have been something's that we don't really understand but there is always a way around them hick ups.
I go to university one day a week, this is not enough support for how hard the course is, especially if you have never done IT before like me.
my employer has been extremely supportive, they give us extra university time as we need it.
The salary goes above and beyond what I need. after all relevant costs I have more than half my wage left.
Lloyds offer loads of volunteering events that you can get involved in, where you meet members of the community and other team members. I volunteer with work a lot.
Yes
the salary they offer, the support they give and the ability for me to push myself and go up the grades is amazing.
Stay calm and don't lose your cool. Be yourself because the interviewers can smell a fake personality a mile off. The assessment day is good fun but it is very tough as expected. You can not prepare for the activities they provide. I would also say to research Lloyds Bank and what they stand for as much as you can. if I could only give one piece of information it would be that the first 6 months will be slow and probably not what you expect, but stick at it as it does get better!
