I am a Software Engineer, my day to day tasks involve working with various teams and an external company to implement a new system for the LBGs ATMs.
I have developed skills in a variety of technologies like, C#, Java, Powershell, UNIX and SQL. I have also attended external training at IBM for a deployment application call UrbanCode.
The programme is really good and I have learnt a lot in my first year of the apprenticeship. There is a lot of support from both university and work which is helping to develop my skills.
I feel valued by LBG and my team. I have fit in well with the team and have received recognition for both my work at LBG and my progress at university.
The programmes is structured very well. We receive all the relevant training required for our team and time is also provided to study for assignments and exams.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider. Outside of lectures the lecturers are always happy to help with any queries and support I need.
My employer also provides support I need. I am given time to study and members of my team help with any topics I am struggling with. The team are always happy to help.
The salary is really good and covers all costs sufficiently.
There are a lot of volunteering opportunities and conferences that you can attend. Also the team has away days where the team gets together to improve moral and team bonding.
Yes
It is a great organisation to work for, who provide all the support needed to help you develop in your career.
It is a tough process to go through but coming to the assessment days prepared and confident will help.
