I work front of house. I work on the bar and I waitress. I put meals and drinks through the till and take the meals and drinks to the tables. I work in a team and work independently. I make desserts from spec sheets and set up the bar and floor in the mornings.
I am much more confident at work now than I was before starting the NVQ. I have learnt lots of things about laws and paperwork that I did not know before this NVQ This NVQ has given me more outside of work, also. I am enjoying putting the new skills into practice at work.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this NVQ I am very disappointed to finish it, although it is also good to have accomplished it. I loved the written work and researching the theory, and the practical side, although it felt strange having someone watching what I was doing whilst at work. I would love to do another NVQ
I feel valued. Greene King is a great company to work for. There are so many incentives that they run for people that work hard. We have the staff discount which makes us feel appreciated. I have seen many phone numbers for different departments, all there to offer help of needed. I personally haven't needed to use one, but it is reassuring they are there.
Very organised.
I received all the support that I needed. My trainer always said that she is only a phone call away. I knew that I could always ring or text her or email her if I needed any help from her. The same with the previous trainer before she left. They were both so helpful and friendly with it.
My manager has been very supportive. She said that she saw qualities in me that I had not seen in myself. When I won the Lifetime apprentice of the year last year, my manager and trainer both came to London with me. They took time out of their busy lives to go to London.
It meets my costs, it more than that the hours for around my son, which is a bigger importance to me. If I want higher wages then I know I can work my way up to a higher position. We can also use our Greene King discount which saves us money, so we use less of our wages buying meals.
Some.
Yes
They are a fantastic company to work for. They encourage you to work your way up. To keep moving forward and gives you the support and encouragement to do so. We get a staff discount that saves us on our meals. There are many incentives for hard working members of staff. This way people work harder to reach the incentive.
Definitely choose Greene King as a company to work for. We are treated really well with many rules that managers have to obey to. We get a staff discount which is thirty three percent which saves a lot on dinners. We are encouraged to join lifetime for NVQs. These are at no cost to staff but you can learn so much. Greene King is the best company that I have worked for.
