I currently work in continuous improvements at the Barnsley site. I work and support my mentor with projects day by day. As part of the projects I arrange meetings with senior team members and provide live updates. Part of the project work I collect the data that is required.
I am lucky to have a good mentor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] He has helped me alot since I started my new role. Scott will always offer his support and provide his excellent knowledge of Premier Foods. This encourages me to go further within the CI role.
I like the program itself. However I go to Worksop once every 2 week. Part of the apprenticeship I cover other subjects, which within CI doesn't support this however it will allow me to expand my knowledge offer my support to other area's of the business.
I feel really valued at the moment. I get on well with my mentor really well. I also have a great relationship with the line leaders in Cell A and we all work as part of a team. I also feel valued from the senior team. My manager will praise for good work, and offer advice if something needs improving.
There's obviously improvements can be made. However I understand that this programme is new to Premier Foods Carlton so it can take time to adjust and get to know what is required and when it's required. We can only learn from our mistakes and make improvements for the next lot of apprentices.
At the moment in time I do not really need support, as I get a lot of my information from my mentor. However CQM do offer additional support by sending some good documents to read and to go through. CQM also provided feedback which has previously been sent to Premier HR.
Premier will give me the push to exceed and achieve high grades or at-least support me achieving a really good piece of work.
Improvements could be made, which I would really appreciate. Sometimes I have to work overtime to be able to achieve an healthy lifestyle outside of work.
I haven't really looked at other opportunities outside of work. I am happy at the moment and I just want to progress as much as I can.
Yes
It is a family place.
