I work in the global compliance and reporting sector. This involves preparing tax computations, and auditing tax balances which go into financial statements.
yes, I have learnt the basics of accounting, and how to prepare and review a tax computation.
There are aspects of the programme which are definitely enjoyable, however, looking back I wish I did more in-depth research on what this career would involve. If you prefer creativity over repetition, this definitely isn't the career path for you.

The programme is spread across 5 years, which is too long. I don't have a clear idea of how I will progress over these years, and what my role will be in the team.

If they enjoy accountancy, I think this is the best route in becoming a chartered accountant.
