Associate My daily tasks include building the ground work for audit and interacting with clients. As an associate, you stay with the team a lot and get coached by seniors as well as a lot of client facing tasks. I have a large responsibility in making sure the audit tasks are performed to the highest standard and looking out for any issues within the business. There are a lot of external perks within my department as everyone is very sociable so often meet up after work.
I have been on a lot of training courses since joining which help prep you for each task you meet. I am also studding my exams to become qualified at the end of the program which is all funded for by EY. Ive gained personal skills such as time management, self discipline, organisation and social skills.
EY is a great company for people. Every person you interactive with in some way is similar in the way that they are happy to socialise with people of whatever background or level. As someone from a low income area I had come with the fear of not being accepted into such a prestigious firm but couldn't of been more wrong.
very! there are struggles however EY does strive to make sure you feel proud of what you do.
you can tell that a lot of planning has gone into every step of our scheme. They hold peer group meetings for each intake where we can discuss what we want to change or enjoy and since being here I can see that they take this on board
We are assigned buddies when we first join - an informal contact with in the department who guides us and introduces us to the department.
people from other staff all the way up to partners are willing to sit down with you and help you. I have had chats with partners about situations I've faced and they are so ready to guide and help
the salary is good for our age and is great compared to others out there.
This firm is a very peoples company so there are so many external opportunities. I recently got involved in trekking the sahara desert for the firm's charity 'EY Foundation'
