My day to day role requires jobs such as strip downs and general maintenance. Currently i am partaking in the overhaul of our pie lines. This includes replacing bearings shafts belts etc. On a day to day basis we are given a job and an engineer to work with by the shift co-ordinator. We also carry out maintenance tasks and fabrication work unsupervised when trained on the equipment used to complete the job.
I have developed my existing skills mechanically adapting them to a range of environments and situations in a live production hall. I have advanced massively with my electrical knowledge and principles since i first started.
i enjoy the programme very much as i am always learning new skills and continue to advance the skills which were there already.
I do feel valued by premier foods, I would like to think i am a valued member of the engineering team.
the structure of the programme could do with being a little more set in stone. it would be nice to see a written plan for the 5 year course.
we receive support in any area when we ask for it.
our employer supports our apprenticeships fully, allowing us to carry out jobs and understanding that we will make some mistakes as long as we learn from them.
my salary covers what i need it to.
The only opportunities outside of work have been college.
Yes
