  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a store apprentice at aldi training to be a deputy manager, my day to day jobs involve rotating stock,working on the tills and handling money,dealing with customer queries, replenishing stock and keeping the shop looking neat and up to a good standard.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst working at aldi i have developed my customer service skills as i deal with hundreds of customers on a day to day basis and i deal with there complaints and questions. i also feel like i have learnt a lot of new things as i understand how the business works so effectively and different procedures that happen in store.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot because you learn new things every day and whilst learning you are also getting first hand experience in doing certain jobs and tasks.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • i feel like i am valued at aldi a lot because i get treated fairly and i am not seen as a less valuable member of staff which i feel can happen sometimes if you are younger. i also feel like i am valued as i will have lots of responsibilities which shows that my colleagues trust me to do things independently.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The aldi apprenticeship programme is well organised as you have plenty of training and preparation before you start the job itself,you get lots of support from your colleagues and the apprenticeship work you do outside of work isn't bad at all,you get lots of help and support from that company as well.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • i feel like i get lots of help of my tutor from lifetime as she is always available to help me when necessary and she will also make things easier for me as she will arrange to meet me on a day or time that is convenient.

  • i receive a lot of support from my employer as if i ever feel like i need help or i have any questions i can always go to my managers and they will help and guide me to do the correct things.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My wage i think is very good as usually the apprenticeship rate is quite low whereas aldi pay a lot more for their apprentices, i have just recently had a pay rise and i can manage to save money each month whilst having plenty to spend on travel and doing things with my friends.

  • Yes

  • i would recommend aldi to a friend as there are lots of opportunities for you to progress in this carer and also the experience is good. Aldi pay a good wage and you learn new things everyday.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • i would recommend that you have a positive attitude and seem very keen about the job as to work for aldi you have to be motivated and dedicated
