I work in the Accounts Payable Department. I am responsible for several tasks including paying invoices, building relationships with new vendors and distributing the buildings post. I have daily interactions with internal members of staff including my line manager, supervisor and colleagues and dealing with any queries with vendors. I am also in constant interactions with external vendors whom I deal with. My main responsibility is making sure my vendors invoices are getting processed on time and they receive payment as soon as possible. Also I look after several inboxes making sure all queries are resolved urgently and any tasks that have been sent directly to my personal inbox.
I have learnt new skills such as time management, communication and developed my excel skills. I am currently studying towards the Level 2 AAT Qualification.
I find my apprenticeship interesting as I am learning new tasks everyday. I also enjoy studying and preparing for my exams and it is a great feeling when you pass. It helps a lot when we are allowed study time also at work. I have a great team they are really supportive and everyone is willing to help you out if you are struggling with completing the tasks. The management are easily approachable so if you have any problems they are always willing to listen. I enjoy coming to work everyday and there is a new challenge everyday.
I feel like a valued member of the team as we are all responsible for different tasks and you have to personally make sure you complete you tasks to the best of your ability and on a daily basis. I feel appreciated when I help out other colleagues whenever they require assistance. Whenever you pass an exam you get internal recognition from everyone and even colleagues from other teams.
My Apprenticeship gave us an induction at the beginning and it meets all the requirements they highlighted and meets my expectations. My programme has been well organised as I know what to expect in terms of personal development in the future. We receive support on a daily basis from the management team and also our tutor.
We receive great support from our training provider as we have a tutor coming to see us on a monthly basis and she is always available to contact if we need any help. She provides us with a lot of resources and materials to revise from.
We receive a lot of support from our employers as they are always asking us what we think of the apprenticeship scheme and what they can improve. They are always willing to help us out and offer us opportunities to gain exposure and shadow other teams so we get more experience of what Enterprise have to offer. The HR Team is amazing they easily approachable and really friendly, and they will help you out with an problems or for advice.
The salary package is good as it is above the national minimum wage for Apprentices. For my current situation I have enough money to cover main costs such as bills and travel.
The Company is always involved in many different projects, they are always lots of voluntary initiatives as helping out the local community and lots of fundraising days for charity.
