I work in Accounts Payable, where my role is to take care of two Inboxes and make sure they are checked on a daily basis. As well as taking care of the departments post and making sure its handed to the appropriate person. Im in constant communication with my Team Leader, Supervisor and Companies who may call regarding any queries they have. My responsibility is to make sure that the Outstanding Invoices are sent for approval and are paid.
I'm currently taking an apprenticeship in AAT which will lead me to a qualification in accounting, developed my communication and team work skills.
I have enjoyed the programme as it taught me a lot about working life and I really enjoy the team I work as they are all friendly and ready to support me in any way. Culture is very team oriented and this something I enjoy to be apart as I enjoy working as a team.
I feel like I'm a valued as I'm appreciated for helping colleagues with their projects and any task that they are. when Im on top of all my work and i assist my colleagues with work which they may be behind. I get the appreciation from my colleagues and manager. Whenever I pass my Exam I get recognized for my efforts from different departments in the office.
My Apprenticeship has developed into a well organised programme as from the Induction everything that they had told was in fact true. We have books readily supplied to us whenever we need which is very helpful.
We receive great support from our training provider as they come in to do a revision session with us and provide us with extra materials to revise from. Our tutor is always on hand to support us with any problems we are having and there to gives the idea how to solve it ourselves.
We receive a large amount support from our employers, as they are always willing to put us in a position on which we can develop and improve. This is by giving opportunities to sit with other departments and learn their roles and what they do. If we have any issues HR are there to listen to them and guide us on what to do next.
The salary package is good for my current situation, helps me pay bills and able to enjoy a good social life.
The Company is always involved in many different projects and charity events, which are readily available for employees to part take in.
