Being involved in the day to day running of the shop floor and completing pallets in set times. During year 2 i am now managing the running of the shop floor, and allocating tasks.
Yes i have learnt lots of tranferrable skills, especially to do with the managing of people.
I enjoy the programme a lot, as it gives you a lot of responsibility, which you may not get with another company.
I feel very valued by aldi, and am constantly being given feeback and support by management and members of staff.
I think it is structured within aldi, however i dont think the meetings with the trainer monthly, are very beneficial.
If i require him, i will email him however there is generally not much contact. However he always ensures that i am ok, when we do have a visit.
I recieve some suppport from aldi. I dont think it is clearly defined, what an apprentice is and what they must do etc. I think it should be an area that is maybe focused on a bit more so that everyone is aware.
In my opinion, not very well. I imagine it to be a very good salary for a typical apprentice however having moved out quite young and having my own house/bills etc it can be a struggle, and i dont see why apprentices should be paid less than any other worker as they do the same, and have if not more responsibility going into year 2 and 3.
Yes there are many opportunities out of work.
Yes
Overall i think it is a good place to work, with well paid staff. You gain lots if new skills and experience and you are never left without anything to do.
I would advise anyone who is applying to go for it however you must be prepared to work hard and be willing to rise up to new challenges.
