I work as a service charge specialist in audit so I check the accounts produced for retirement apartments who have all their costs rebilled to the residents. I ensure the residents are being charged a fair amount reflected in the accounts by performing a number of review tests such as agreeing invoices and bank reconciliations.
I have developed a lot of skills when using excel as I use it every day. This has then meant I have also learnt other parts of excel skills such as macros. I have gained confidence in dealing with the client on the phone and have attended some training courses away.
I enjoy having a set team which I work with everyday and always have help whenever it's needed.
Very valued as we are given pay rises based on merit rating and have constant catch ups to discuss how we can improve.
Mostly well organised. Recently we had a new exam thrown on us but that was due to a change in the system and wasn't related to BDO. Otherwise I feel we get a lot of support and are given the right materials.
We can email whenever we need help and a tutor can come to us. Otherwise, the materials are good for exams.
We receive a lot of support from our employer and are checked on by our counselling managers to ensure we are doing ok.
As we've just received a payrise for completing CFAB I believe this matches living well and I'm happy with this.
Our office is very social and we do a lot of activities throughout the year.
Yes
Because the apprenticeship programme is very good in terms of studying and getting experience and this office can be a lot of fun with the activities we do.
Be happy and friendly as that's what is looked for in the office.
