I am a mortgage underwriter and my role consists of me making a financial decision based around risk and judgment. I work mortgage applications on a day to day basis with the main aim being an approval, however, this is depedant on the customers circumstances.
I have learnt a lot about new banking products which is useful when assessing a mortgage application, as it gives me a insight into a clients financial situation in more depth.
The programme is enjoyable as it links in well to my current position. It also gives me strong knowledge of the financial market which is important as I am wanting to persue a long career in this industry.
I feel very valued - my performance is acknowledged on a regular basis and I feel like a valued member of the bank.
The programme is very structured. There is a lot of support provided and it gives me the opportunity to study in chunks rather than cram everything into small sessions, which is important for absoring information.
I receive as much support as required - my training provider has hosted revision sessions and additional coaching sessions for the exam, if required.
My employer is particularly supportive - they delegate me the time to study throughout the working day.
My salary package is exceptional compared to my costs
There are lots of out of work opportunities - I was successful in achieving a secondment to work in Manila for 6 weeks with the bank, which was a great experience. I also have the opportunity to volunteer.
Yes
The company is very reputable and it has enabled me to excel my career in the bank a lot quicker than imagined.
