engineering apprentice, carrying out calibrations and maintenance, talking to contractors, shift co-ordinators and production engineers, looking after production equipment, and site maintenance.
yes I have gained a btec level 3 in engineering and will be moving on to HNC/HND, I have completed several internal training. I have learnt lots of personal skills as well as practical day to day life skills
I do not see my programme as a chore, it is enjoyable but sometimes is intense. I have work friends and converse with several different people I may not have outside of work.
I do not feel like I am valued at GSK much of the time, internally there is not a lot of recognition. sometimes this is due to my input being minimal sometimes it is because the way things work, my mentor within my department currently is very good at recognising my work though.
my programme is freely structured I believe if I wanted to head in a certain direction and applied myself anything is achievable
in regards to training any necessary training is provided
I receive as much support as required, everyone is out going and friendly.
my salary covers basics and allows me to do extra.
work offers loads of opportunities to network and get involved with lots of other apprentices.
Yes
I believe it is a good secure company that embeds good principals in you as a person.
be out going, express your interests, and enjoy what you do, do not lie or try to hide how you feel.
