Manufacturing scientist - produce tablets and capsules in pilot plant for clinical trials and development
yes, been trained on equipment within the plant. EHS knowledge. Receiving a FdSc Chemical Science degree.
I am really enjoying the programme so far. I fit in well within the department. Which makes my role more enjoyable for me.
I am treated as a team member and given the same jobs and projects as others that have been in GSK longer and are more experienced. I have received rewards for the work I have done which makes me feel valued by GSK and my team.
The induction into the work was very organised. The programme is sometimes a bit disorganised when it comes to organising development events. The early talent team don't always communicate as effectively as possible and could interact more with the students.
We receive a great deal of support from the university once we have emailed and asked. However, the original support that is given, such as powerpoints for work, can be vague and sometimes unhelpful.
A lot of support, I have a weekly meeting with my manager where I discuss the week and what I did well and what could have been improved.
The salary I receive does not cover my outgoings as I live away from home so have to pay for bills such as rent. The bonus helps a great deal.
There is a sports and social club on site that is very popular. My department does not organise many social events. However, I go back home on weekends so are too far to do social activities with people from work.
Yes
They have been very supportive. You also get lots of benefits that are great. It is a great company to work for that provides many opportunities.
To be yourself. Show that you have good morals and research GSK's values and expectations. Show that you will put the patient first at all times because GSK like to know that you are patient focussed and will follow the values and expectations at all times.
