learning every sub-department within the woodshop within Rolls-Royce Motor Cars
i have learned to work with veneer and all of the machinery related to that, such as laser cutters, flat and membrane presses among others.
most of the departments are fantastic however others are not so good
i feel very valued. they always reinforce how they feel that we are the future of the company
there is a plan that all of the aprentices follow. this tells us which department to move to and for how long. however this plan is not comunicated to the bosses of that department. when in each department there is not always a set plan for the time you spend there or an objective for when you finish other than know the job
My collage course is incredibly supportive, however not very orgernised. they are perfectly willing to stay late and open weekends and holidays. this wouldnt be nesesserry if there were more planning and were more realistic with capibilitys at the begining of the course
i receve lots of support from RR in regards to the collage course. wheather it if financealy backing the projects or providing material and access to machinery we dont have access to at collage
i have been self sufficent since the begining though it has been tricky to save.
there are a few opertinitys however they are not always at the best times. and the oves that are tend to be rushed and at short notice so they sen someone who have done them in the past
Yes
it is such a huge company who care about the apprentices. you job for life and many perks
they seem more interested in people who are able to learn and have a personality than someone who is the best at everything
