My role as a maintenance technician apprentice is to go on placements within my plant and follow a technician around whilst learning on the job. Whilst on the placements it usually consists of me diagnosing and fixing machines.
I have developed many skills within my time in my apprenticeship so far, particularly my dexterity and manual handling skills with tools.
I enjoy my apprenticeship as I get to interact with people on a daily basis to complete tasks on the line.
I feel fairly valued as BMW have put a lot of training budget into me for my apprenticehsip, also now I am progressing I feel I am benefiting the company as I can fix things on my own.
My apprenticeship is organised in the qualification side of it with college and NVQ work etc. Hoever my placements are sometimes not organised the best as I am on for some longer than others but this doesnt bother me too much.
I recieve support from my college with my BTEC work as they are the ones that teach me, my company will also give me extra time if I am struggling or behind with any of my theory work.

I would say my salary is about right as it gives me enough for my cost of living and for transport etc with spending money still available.
There are not really that many opportunities outside of work as nothing is organised like activities with colleagues etc.
Yes
Because I believe the training overall is good and you are paid a competitive wage for this age.
I would advise to be confident with any assessments/interviews and be sure to make the most of it because it is a great opportunity.
