I am a logistics engineer. Throughout my first year I attend college to gain the basic knowledge of engineering which I am currently doing. In the following years I will be on day release at college where I will either get a HNC or degree qualification.
Yes, I have gained many more skills within engineering. Before I started I had no idea what my career path would involve however now I have a much better understanding and I have been shown and taught some of a very large and advance section of the engineering work industry and will progress to further my knowledge.
I fully enjoy the programme, obviously nothing is perfect however as an overview it is a very enjoyable experience so far with few hiccups that do not concern the company itself but the college that has taken the role of setting us up for work life.
Very well valued. All of the members of the company take interest into the apprentices and take great care of us when they can.
The programme itself is well structures with many opportunities within the time I will spend here. Organisation from the college I attend for BMW is not the best but BMW do their best to support us with regular check ups on our progress.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider, if ever need support I know I can call my main lecturer for help.
Much like my training provider I can talk to my manager about any issues I have even if it's not always to do with my course.
The salary is excellent and much more than anyone my age could wish for. And it's always increasing the further I get through the course.
Not as such for my year however we were given the opportunity for an put of bound trip at the start where we all got a week away in Devon to get to know each other. We also had a trip down to Mini of Oxford plant and stayed down there for the night so we had a chance to see how the Oxford apprentices course works.
Yes
It's a good paid course with so many perks and the company is so enjoyable to be a part of.
Having a strong personality will help so don't be shy to let that come through but always be professional about the way you behave.
