My role now is an Account Manager, I am responsible for building relationships with members of the IT teams with a number of clients across the country. I deal with a range of levels in these organisations from Engineers to CIO's and IT Directors. I am responsible for understanding their requirements and directing our internal resource to help fulfill these requirements and generate income for Softcat. This involves regular contact on the phone, email and face to face meetings with these customers to maintain that relationship.
Loads; Solution selling, meetings, cold calling, product knowledge, overall IT knowledge, confidence.
The company and the people i work with are absolutely class, the job met my expectations. Sales can be very difficult and you have to be self motivated, I enjoyed the apprenticeship for the most part but there was ups and dows, but that is expected in any sales role especially when you first start.
Feel very valued when you do well, as soon as you let that slip you are a number in the grand scheme of things and they will chuck you out.
Few years back now but i remember it being pretty well organised. Structure was good.
yeah loads, could always speak to someone for extra advise when i needed.
A lot, people always willing to help.
For an apprentice it was a great wage, i know a lot of apprenticeships paid a lot worse. Once you pass the apprenticeship the commission as an account manager is decent.
Loads. So many company events and socials to get involved in, you're allowed time off to do volunteering as well. Location in Manchester isn't the best but there's parking so cant complain really.
Yes
Good culture, fun place to work. Work hard play hard type of environment.
Back yourself and be confident going through the interview.
