On a day to day basis I complete a variety of different tasks. Currently I am shadowing the Deputies in different departments and seeing what they do daily. Sometimes I will be required to assist the pickers on the pick if it is a busy day. This is a lot more hands on and physical but I am always happy to help.
Recently I have been trained on a forklift, reach truck and bulk mover. As well as the warehouse skills I have also developed my IT skills as programmes such as excel are a massive part of the daily tasks I am faced with.
I enjoy my programme a lot, I am surrounded by very supportive employees who are always willing to help me if I am struggling with a task. Sometimes the early start times can be difficult but I enjoy the work which makes it all a lot easier.
I do feel valued by ALDI, as I go further into my programme and I am given bigger responsibilities I feel as though I will be valued a lot more and recognised more. My direct leader praises me often and thanks me for my hard work which motivates me.
Personally I feel like there is a good structure to my programme. My direct leader keeps on top of meetings with our external trainer and is good at organising things for us. We are always given the time to complete our NVQ work if the department is not too busy.
When my trainer visits me in the workplace he offers a lot of support and helps me with my NVQ work. However, I feel as though when I try to communicate with him through email about any problems I have he can be quite slow with the advice or sometimes not get back to me at all.
My employer is always offering support no matter what department I am in they are always checking to see if everything is okay outside and inside of work. As well as that, they always seem happy to help me, I feel as though this is an important thing.
ALDI do well to support my costs, I feel very lucky to have the wage I am on currently.
ALDI offer many different activities outside of work. ALDI benefits is a programme they offer which includes things such as discounted cinema tickets and free car washes at certain places.
Yes
It is a good company to work for, there is a lot of job security within the company and the working environment is a lot different to a lot of usual work places.
As regards to the application process and interviews, I would recommend that you research the company's background. Employers like it when you have something to talk about instead of just answering their questions.
