I'm training to be a maintenance technician, learning how to fill out business improvement audits as well as working to keep the assembly line running. (Job title is Assembly Line Technician)
I have learn't how to fill out the BIT (business improvement techniques). And at college i have learn't how to use various machines like milling machines and lathes.
I enjoy the program very much it teaches me a lot about a workplace as well as the practical side which is just as enjoyable.
I feel very valued at BMW and it's clear my development is of high importance so I can apply myself well now and in the future.
The course is set out well with clear intentions for our future in the company.
The college assigned with our training is adequate and provides the education needed to get through with opportunities to progress higher, support is there to take to help anyone who is struggling.
At this point in time in the apprenticeship it is very much college based however on the few weeks we have been involved in plant support is there to help anyone with particular issues around the plant.
The salary is perfect to get us apprentices on our feet and lets us learn about saving for houses, as well as learning about financing yourself.
We as a group have already been to a team building week at Skern Lodge that was great, and we have been down to Oxford plant for more experience in a different location, which was great for our VPS training program. There is also clear intention for more opportunities in the future.
Yes
It is a great opportunity to get into a well paying job that allows you to progress through the company by noticed effort.
Work experience is handy when applying for any apprenticeship, I would recommend this as it is great to have on your CV to make you standout.
