  • As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, I am responsible for reviewing the daily performance ofmachines and draw insights for improvement using lean tools

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I learnt many new things like how to conduct a waste walk and getting valuable data from it. Also I learnt the components of the 5S system and Kaizen system. I learnt about the dynamics of working in a team and problem solving technoques including 4M analysis, 5W1H, 5Why method etc

  • Always looking forward to training after finishing the assignment project given

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Premier Foods?
  • Premier foods attach a higher degree of importance to this training and keen to acquire some benefits from it. All the apprentice gave a presentation of activities about three weeks ago and all the senior managers were there to listen and give feedbacks. I think this is a way of telling us that they are interested in what we are doing.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Ver well organised. There are syllabuses, schedules, a timetable and regular assessment. The CQM company that handles this apprenticeship programme are very organised and acquiring new staff in order to improve their training quality.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider is CQM. They are very prompt and knowledgeable. They come in to the factory do Waste walk with us and follow through all our projects, making contributions and giving guidance as we proceed.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Premier foods support the program to the highest level. The staff attached to the apprenticeship programme are very communicative and help us to remove any impedement on the way of performing our projects. They support us by helping us to take time out of our daily work routine and do the assignment given to us by the trainer.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The cost of this apprenticeship programme is taken over by the company. And I actually don't have any out of pocket expenses to contribute.

  • Most of our activities are done within the factory, so I have not explored any opportunity outside of work
