  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a logistics assistant consists of various tasks around the warehouse. From picking the pallets that the stores have ordered to checking the pick is completed correctly to ensure stores receive the products that they have ordered. I have worked in all the departments around the warehouse which has allowed me to understand how the warehouse works.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills as I have took part in truck training courses allowing me to be able to drive the order picker trucks. I have also took part in further truck training so I am now able to drive the forklift and bulk trucks giving me more roles and responsibilities. I have also developed my communication skills as I have had to work with drivers giving out orders so they can safely and correctly unload their wagons.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy my apprenticeship and like the variation of the different tasks I complete each day. I work with good company which helps to motivate the team.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • I do feel valued by my manager and the managers in the different departments around the warehouse. I get regular recognition for my pick rate and am often given new responsibilities and tasks to get involved in.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program is well structured, I has a weeks induction at the start to inform me of everything I needed to know about Aldi and health and safety in the warehouse. I now have monthly meetings with my NVQ mentor to ensure I am keeping up to date with my coursework.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive good support from my training provider when required via email, and get good support during the monthly meetings giving me guidance where it is required.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer. I have regular monthly catch ups and performance reviews to ensure I am on track and meeting my targets. I receive support and guidance when necessary and am given guidance by my manager when and how I need it.

  • My salary meets my costs well.

  • I have not took part in any opportunities outside of work.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Aldi to friend as I find they're a good employer to work for with evidence of progression within the role. I feel valued as an aldi employer and enjoy work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • I found the application process quite long as their are many steps you have to complete before you are offered the job. Although this helped me as it meant I was fully aware of the roles I would be completing.
