On a day to day I am always rotating what job roles and departments I based in. I am trained on all trucks as well as learning how to do most manual jobs within the warehouse. Daily tasks would include order picking, using a bulk mover to move stock, checking, wrapping, booking in, using fork lift trucks or computing in the office. I am very interacted with many different workers as I get the chance to work with lots of different people every day.
I am currently working towards a level 2 warehouse and storage NVQ and then in year 3, a level 3 certificate. While being at Aldi I have had the opportunity to learn and pass my test on a reach truck, fork lift truck and bulk mover. Personal skills I have learnt since joining is mainly confidence and people skills as I am working with so many different people daily.
I enjoy coming to work and have a very positive attitude towards it. I enjoy the people I work with and look forward to the future as I am pleased by how well thought out the apprentiship has been.
In such a huge business Aldi I feel that there are many managers in each department that will give you a lot of their time to make you feel valued. I feel that on the course I have been on I have felt involved with the company as I have been involved with so many different jobs and worked along side with section leaders and deputies within the warehouse.
Very well planned as I know what and where I will be for the next three years and what job roles I will be undergoing. I have received lots of support from my direct leader and time is never a problem when I need it to complete coursework for my course. Also, in the short time I have been here I am already trained on nearly all the trucks. I am sure the support will continue all through my course.
I receive lots of support and the door is open to come in and chat about any problems or situations that may occur. I also have a tutor with my coursework for any help I need with that.
Personal and direct leaders are always will to talk about anything and I know that any support I need is very easy to find and is always there within the team.
Coming straight from school to work has meant going from no income, to working full time and having a much healthier one. I find the salary to meet my costs with living, car costs and being able to have money left for myself.
There are always charities and sponsored events happening outside of the workplace. These are local, inside the warehouse and in other locations. I feel that Aldi do lots to supply opportunities such as fundraisers.
Yes
I feel the company is growing rapidly and the way that Aldi works is efficient and the way forward. Furthermore Aldi have treated my very well and pay very well.
Make the most of the opportunity as Aldi is a huge company and would be a great experience for anybody. I would tell people to listen to what is said in the interview and trail as everything said is very honest.
