My role mainly involved understanding the core work being done by other members of the team, allowing me to provide information to various stakeholders at different points in time. I was also involved in performing ad hoc data analysis for a live web tool to measure success against team KPI’s
I have developed an industry standard google analytics qualification in addition to being able to write basic web code using JavaScript, html, and CSS. My presentation skills were improved over my time advice I was required to give both written and oral presentations.
I enjoyed the program very much, it allowed to challenge myself and learn new skills I would not have learnt otherwise. I met a number of working professionals which has given me key connections going forward which will enable me to grow and shape my skill set in various different roles
I feel very valued as I was offered a place on the horizons development program. Furthermore, I believe I was given a lot of support and opportunities to expand my skills according to my interests.
The program is not as structured as many of us would have liked, there is a chance of being unassigned at which point you have no formal work to do and must spend your time chasing up managers trying to find a role or “self learning”
We received a two day excel course which gave us some useful information to help with our job, although we received no other official training beyond that
The company is very supportive in terms of guidance and opportunities. As mentioned earlier, the possibility of being unassigned can be a daunting experience for many interns.
My salary enabled me to live and meet my costs sufficiently since I was still living at home. Had I not been doing so I believed the salary may not have been enough to live to a good standard in London
There are many opportunities to partake in sport and other activities including but not limited to, official company parties. I took part in squash, football, and many different team outings on my first project.

Accenture gives you the opportunity to finesse your soft skills and become a more rounded individual. They provide you with the opportunity to push yourself to really discover your interests and then provides a platform to develop them. The size of the company also provides you with a large pool of professionals to lean on for career guidance or mentoring.
Focus on improving yourself and your skills, don’t be afraid to try something you might be bad at as this is the only way you will learn. Work hard in whatever task your doing, a good work ethic will ensure you gain the maximum you can from your time and really grow.
