The PwC sponsored degree programme allows you to study for your ICAEW ACA qualification while experiencing the university lifestyle, as well as gaining invaluable work experience during placements at PwC.
While on the programme you study towards most of the professional examinations in accounting which improve your technical understanding. In addition there are many useful skills developed on the job working as a valued employee.
I really enjoy my programme as it strikes the perfect balance between the university experience and working as an employee at PwC.
I feel very valued by PwC. This can be specifically seen while on placement with the demand for flying starts being extremely high. We are very valued employees due to the technical knowledge gained at university and the practical experience while on placement.
The programme is very well structured to ensure that we get as much benefit as possible out of every aspect of the programme. It is also structured to ensure we retain the holidays associated with university which is a hugely positive for me.
We receive lots of help and support from a number of people while on the programme. The support comes from people at the university such as the course director, personal tutor, lecturers, general student support services, and students in the year above that are able to help and guide you too.
We also receive a lot of support from PwC both on placement and while at university. There are people specifically tasked with ensuring our programme runs smoothly and do a fantastic job with questions, queries and problems. Other people here to support us include our people manager on placement and buddies assigned to help make the transition to the work place more smooth. This is in addition to the students in the year above that are also assigned to help generally.
The salary is very fair. PwC also help with providing accommodation while on placement. If you live at home whilst on placement they help with other costs that may arise.
PwC is a great firm to work for. There are great socials subsidised by the firm both at university and on placement that allow you to network and meet new people. It is a very sociable and inclusive firm.
