On a day to day basis I will generally be performing various audit tasks, primarily as part of execution (ie obtaining audit information on site at a client) or in completion (ie updating draft financial statements and similar). This leads to a very varied role.
I have learnt many things in my role, such as the need for clear explanation and good organisation in my approach to things which has helped outside of work also
I do really enjoy my role as it is varied and provides me with the opportunity to take on responsibility and to develop myself
I feel valued by the people I work for regularly, although I’m not sure this extends to the wider business and management
There’s much room for improvement here, primarily from BPP the training provider, as I have had a couple of government enforced exams added into my programme which I did not sign up to and was only given very late notice for, therefore it is difficult to plan ahead and know what my exact programme is.
I receive more than enough support From BPP however as stated their communication is very very poor.
My employer could not be more supportive of me both in and out of exams. For example if I fail an exam I get an additional day study leave paid and the offer of support from more senior people within my firm to help me succeed
Initially my salary was below the work I was doing however I have had a recent payrise and I feel this is sufficient to cover the costs of my role.
A few, socially and otherwise however I feel this is something I would like there to be more of in order to create a better group
Yes
It is a brilliant place to work with full support and the people are so fun and knowledgable to work with
I would say the main thing is to understand what you want from the role and to be confident in your abilities
